Well this is my last post of the year . And fuck 2009 . It's probably the worst year ever,if I think about the negative side . Les Paul, the creator of Les Paul guitars died . Well that's just cause he's old. But we lost a legend. And another young legend has gone at the age of 23, James Sullivan. Many others have gone too. I guess that's life. I try thinking about how this year has gone by very fast but actually it's a very long year for me. A lot of major problems here & there .. From friendship to realtionships, from band mates to rivals .. Well I should talk about the right side now. There's no use looking back at the past. What's left is a lesson. A lesson to learn from. The bright side? School. All the slacking led me to not-so-good results & made me realise I just had to get that scholarship. But more problems arised.. well at least I got a bursary.. Only that I have to give up Green Day ): WAIT. Why am I negative again? Cause 2009 sucked. Really sucked. Friends are the only who made the year better if I try to remember.. laughters, outings, jammings & skating .. Yea, it was great. My family has been too. Thanks for the happy moments, my dear cousins. The band. It all happened really fast in the period of two months.. or so. The breakdown. I'm not talking about it. Everything in this diary has been blogged. And I forgot something.. My guitar skills. I'm not boasting but to think of it, I improved a lot. In spring, I learned only pop songs. Covered songs with chords. And then I got my ACOUSTIC guitar. Covered even 'harder' songs. Teaching myself complicated bar chords It was hard for me that time. Not now. And in autumn I got my STRATOCASTER. Green Day & other punk bands improved my playing. I self taught myself power chords, which I should've picked up earlier cause it's super easy. Trust me. And I began listening more to Avenged Sevenfold, with Syn's & Zacky's shredding. The fast-paced chords-changing songs, it really changed the way I play. And now, after picking up the electric guitar after THREE months, I'm the lead guitarist of the band cause I can hammer solos better. I wished I had been learning power chords much earlier, I would have known how to shred faster today. But that's okay. I'm proud of myself. Every improvement can be seen at my YouTube channel. Go ahead and look. View the oldest to the latest covers. Ain't I right? Well fuck 2009, you'll be missed a little. My memories with so many kinds of 'hims'. It's a good riddance and a bit of a sad goodbye. But most of all, I want to thank Him, God. The Almighty. Thank you for everything you have given me. Well I suppose you're wondering what's my new year resolution. I think it's lame but.. it's quite motivating. I want to be a better musician: improve my guitar solos, improve drums skills - double pedals, I suck at it , & to be better at playing the keybaord. I really suck at memorising chords on the piano. And of course, I want to be more hardworking. No slacking. Time to balance my music life & my school life. Lastly, I HOPE that there wouldn't be as much problems, as much legendary deaths or as much suffering I've gone through the year 2009. I wish all the best to you, reader & to myself for the coming year 2010. So, I'll catch up next year with a new blogskin! This skin reminds me of James.. :(
