Congrats Guitarists, we've improved from Bronze to SILVER! Actually still, I feel quite disappointed. I don't know, I always have these mixed feelings. Since yesterday, especially. I showered for like 20 minutes, thinking that we probably got a silver. I wanted a gold actually. I wished and hoped, but I knew it wouldn't happen. That's why I wasn't in the mood today at school. I was like Zero, a character from the book: Holes by Louis Sarchar.
Maybe we can achieve a goal for our third competition, perhaps. I really hope I can depend on my sec ones then. They are quite slow in guitar.. Talking about them, I've forgotten to share the news.
But we've achieved our goal, which is to get a Silver, on the other hand we hoped for the better, Gold.
I've finished my homework and waiting for a reply from my friend cause I don't know the answer.
Oh Yes, HAPPY BIRTHDAY SANDHYA! You rock, Oh yes, your present will be given tomorrow, haha. I've forgotten to bring it this morning. I've been thinking bout SYF. :/

Lyss Guitarists' big day.

Yes, SYF. I've a couple of pictures to be uploaded up to Facebook but I'll do it tomorrow.

There are two pictures below. One of them is a picture of Republic Polytechnic. A huge place which was officially opened in 2007. Another one is how the stage looked like.

Anyways, let me start of with my journey to school..

Woke up at 5.30am and went to school with Mitzi. We wore our Guitar tee to show UNITED we are. Reached school first. Well, there were some other people but not the guitarists. Seriously mann, why should they come to school like 6.30am? Went up to the performance theatre and at 6.47am, then Ms Koh opened up the prfmnce theatre room. Took the guitars out & headed for the dance studio. Oh, we were excused from Flag Raising. :D

The practice..

Ali conducted us first cause Mr Yeo, our instructor, was doing some nail filing. Don't get me wrong, he's doing his job so that we produce nice tones of sounds and that's the best he can help in our playing. & Mr Yeo conducted us.. blah, blah, blahh.. "OK, good." He said before leaving. Wow, that sounded impressive. Haha. Took a short recess for 10 minutes, at 9.50am, assembled at the foyer, lined up in two's and took the bus.

Arrival..

Republic Poly!

Wow, the place's huge, alright. I've been there for the sound test. It's just as cool as the high schools in US as you've seen on TV. Tuned guitars in a room, practice both songs for a cycle and headed towards the stage.

Heard a school, before Raffles Institution, play Canon In D. I've been hearing to it for days, the rock version. RI played well, i can hear the contrasts of their playing. Like the softness and loudness. Yeah. Great.

What about us? Well, La Cumparsita was kinda okay. Only fine. It didn't sound fierce enough.

Second song, to me, was better than we've ever practiced and it was like better than la cump.. obviously.

After that, watched other schools play. One of them, forgot what's the name.. I think it has something to do with Orchid.. Blahh.. Zzzz..

Oh yes, the school. There were like buzzing, wrong note and "Twang" -ing sound from the strings.

In the meantime, waiting for Mr Yeo to conduct the other schools, Yuying & Westwood, we played TicTacToe. I mean, me and Syahidah.

The chairs are like from some fabric material that when you stroke down it's lighter and when you stroke downwards, it's darker.

Yeah, baybeh. Then, other people started to be influenced writing their names. I did too.

Signing off. Danial's finally showing his love for music. He lost it long ago. He's listening to I Don't Love You by MCR on MP4 now. Haha. He's 9 this October.

THE MOST TIRING WEEK OF MY LIFE.
but for the better..

20Th April.
Yes, it is Friday but I'm just blogging what I should've blog on Monday.
Tried out my SYF costume. Baggy Pants! Low-cut shirt. Lucky I wore a black tee inside.
To cover up, we've to tie up ribbons. Yikes! Boys have a neat collar and tie. HUMPH, I'm so jealous.

21st April.
Had to go off early for performance. We, the guitar Ensemble, had to perform for the upper sec.
At about 12.20pm, I headed for the performance theatre and changed to my guitar tee and black jeans.
Chess, the sad song that I've blogged about, was played at a fast tempo. No, it didn't sound SAD at all. It was horrible. We had to perform below the stage because there's a performance after us by some Drama company.
What was horrible for me is that I left my guitar tuner box under my seat. I had to run and take the box just to avoid people seeing me. That was damn embarrassing.
Practiced guitar with our costumes to get used to it.

22nd April.
Had my Napfa test, didn't take it on Monday because of the costume try-out stuff. I got a C for sit and reach. And worse, I thought that Kia Hwee took down my results for the pull up. but no, she didn't. Urghffftttt. Went for History tutorial - World War two.
Now this is the stuff I'm interested in. Not the rest of Singapore's History like the treaty and the effects and stuff.

23rd April.
Went for guitar again. This time in the Dance Studio. We didn't do our actions as we focused on improvising the song. Maybe the actions we do add up marks. So yeah, we can see our own reflections, checking if we did do the actions. It's just minor stuff, not too heavy like banging the guitar or something. Haha. Practiced walking in and out. I'm so tired this week.
Tomorrow's the exams.

24th April
I read my phrases for my Malay composition, tried to memorse some and used it in the story. For English, it's quite rushing. For the last 10 minutes, I emphasised on the last two points of the letter.
The duration's two hours for ML & CLPaper 1. So guess what I did for the last 30 minutes?
No, I didn't sleep like you dead hippos, I was trying to make up lyrics for my song I blogged about. My brother gave me at title "The Rain In Pain" cause I played to him how the guitar chords sounded like and it was beginning to rain. Haha. Cute right? I know..
Hehehe. COL rehearsal. Actually it's for our SYF practice. Mann, we're dead if we are aiming for Gold and played in a "they're gonna get BRONZE" kind of state. Tomorrow's Mendaki exams. They didn't teach me how to do linear equations and I had to research how to solve it. It was very hard trying to understand something new and teaching yourself to understand it. I understood it a little.. with the help of computers. The quizzes they give are like computer-controlled and not manually. It was HARD, damn it, the school have'nt even taught us. Slow and dead.

My song for the week is Dead And Gone by Justin Timberlake ft T.I. I listened to it the whole morning this week.

And Crack A Bottle by Eminem ft. Dr. Dre ft. 50 cents the whole afternoon.

Can I change my blogskin again? But I'm too busy. Blearghh, I'm sick of Elmo. I hate you Elmo! Haha. Just joking.
Yesterday was Ms Nat's wedding. Went with my family cause my father's friend is Ms Nat's fiance (or husband for now.)
Sat with Munirah and Naqibah. Ate. Saw the class in a group some feet away. Urgh, don't they know how to sit?! Haha. It was irritating to see them standing like mummies.
"Roar!!" Hahaha. Waited for an hour, then Ms. Nat came. Took pictures.
I haven't uploaded them, but guys from 2E1, if you want the pictures, tag me.
But one thing I've to tell you, the guy in red beside our teacher is Danial, my younger brother. Haha. He's like a busybody there, hope you don't mind.
Revised History and 5 more subjects to go. Excluding Malay and English. I'll read newspapers for that.
I was playing my guitar, playing all sorts of chords I could think off. It sounded nice, maybe I just need a singer. I don't even know what lyrics to put. I NEED A BAND! Haha.
I wish I could exchange this classical guitar to a new ACOUSTIC GUITAR! And then when I have money I can buy an electric guiatr. Huff, cravings.
I "invented" a song before, putting in chords, but not that nice. Rating: 1 star. Haha.
Got to go. My brother's waiting for me, he wants to surf the net.

Wow, it's been 12 days since I updated my blog. Too busy.
Tomorrow's Home Econ practiacl test. I'm making a Chicken Veggie burger, but I use wholemeal bread instead. So it should be a sandwich.
Okay, whatever. History test tomorrow.
And LOADS of tests coming up. Science and Geography on Monday, Maths on Wednesday, Literature and home econ on Thursday AND EL exam on Friday. Wow!
Not only that, there's SYF. And on that day, I'll be having a malay mock test before going to change in my SYF clothing ; and also missing a Physics test - Energy.
Huff.
I can't wait to finish these off. I'm reading my history notes now about the Suez canal which is 160km long and separates Asia from Africa (vice versa)..
After exams, it'll be the holidays and I'll be doing a Jumpstyle video with Adilah and get done with our Geography project with August as the dateline. Sounds like we have much time but in actual fact no, time is running out. It's gonna be the end of the world. Gosh.

Gonna make a new video.
The one I made by Taylor Swift sucks. Urghhfttt.
Today, I thought guitar starts at 8 am, so I went to school briskly walking, thinking I'll be late, cause I got off the bus at 8 and takes 5-7 mins walking to school.
Then I saw Yun Pin sitting near the pathway, in front of the gate in her Guzheng Ensemble shirt.
Then her friend came, not sure about the name but she's from 2e2. AT LAST, at 8.15, the gate was opened. I sat down at the foyer alone, looking so pathetic.
Then at 8.20 Zoe came, sat beside me.. And at 8.23, Miss Koh came. That was a relief, at leat she'll open up the ava room and get some aircon.
Took my guitar from the performance theatre, brought it to the ava room and sat down. Boyy, it sounds out of tune. We just changed our strings. We played Chess, which is a sad song, and for the first time, it sounded REALLY sad. Haha. Makes me think of my hamsters that are all gone. The last parts were messy. But I've never heard the song being played this way. Then when we played again, it didn't sound that sad. I should've recorded it. Darn it.
another 3 weeks + , and it'll be SYF??
Whoa. Gotta practice now and everday.

Yes, April Fool! Okay, I sound so childish. Played badminton with Adilah during P.E. and I think I s**k at it. And fug, I got my skin on my toes ripped off a bit. Ouch! Fugg, Fugg. I don't want to put such words in here.
After that, the class went back to our classroom, turning the table backwards and act as if the whiteboard is at the back. Haha.
Ms Nat came in from the 'back' door and everybody said she should enter from the 'front' door.
Which means the back of the class. And we tried to fool her again, saying that she shouldn't enter from the back door. And she was confused. ><
Hahahahahhahahahaha.
Okayy, however I think that's lame cause it's obvious that you're trying to fool the teacher.
Tomorrow, I'm going to have guitar practice. And SYF is about, uhhm, 7 weeks away - I guess?
My friend from St. Gabriel Secondary (band) got a gold on Monday, 30th March. Cool, huh?
But I think everyone's playing is okay, except the melody (alto guitar). Cause the melody's quite fast that they can't play solid and sharp enough.
Oh well, looking forward for improvements for tomorrow's practice.
